This mixed-use development is located in the mountainous Shouf region of Lebanon, set within a natural pine forest on a prominent hillside in Baakline. The project is guided by strict local regulations requiring adherence to traditional Lebanese architectural typologies, necessitating a careful reinterpretation of heritage elements within a contemporary framework.

The design draws from the region’s architectural vocabulary—revisiting features such as pointed arches and mandaloon windows—and integrates them into a cohesive system of façades, rooflines, and shading devices. These elements are abstracted and applied across the project, including in patterned louvers that function as both sun-breakers and privacy screens, establishing a consistent and recognizable identity throughout the development.

The masterplan comprises a gated residential community alongside a central country club, offering a range of unit typologies—from compact studios of approximately 60 m² to apartments between 200 and 400 m², and large private villas reaching up to 1,800 m². Rather than maximizing footprint, the layout prioritizes landscape preservation, maintaining generous distances between buildings and retaining significant portions of the existing forest to reinforce the project’s integration within its natural context.

At the heart of the development, the community center is conceived as a destination for both residents and the wider Baakline area, incorporating sports and recreational facilities, childcare services, spa amenities, a theater, dining venues, and a wedding hall. Additional elements, including rentable bungalows and a secluded tennis court, complement the overall offering—positioning the project as a balanced residential and community-driven environment.
