This private residence is located within the landscape of Wadi Hanifah, set on a generous plot overlooking the valley and surrounded by dense palm plantations. The project is shaped by the convergence of a unique natural setting and the client’s appreciation for Asian tropical architecture, resulting in a design that reinterprets this typology within the Saudi context.
The villa is conceived as a retreat in direct dialogue with its environment, embracing the lush character of the site while maintaining a strong sense of privacy and calm. The layout is organized to frame views toward the wadi, with indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly interconnected to enhance the experience of the surrounding landscape.
Materiality plays a central role in reinforcing this vision, with a palette inspired by traditional tropical construction. Stone and brick anchor the building to the ground, while teak wood elements introduce warmth and craftsmanship. The use of thatched roofing further strengthens the architectural language, creating a distinctive identity that blends regional context with a contemporary interpretation of tropical living.
