Strata One is a luxury private villa located within the Parkway district of Dubai Hills Estate, part of a large-scale masterplanned community developed by Emaar Properties and Meraas. Set within a landscape-driven environment defined by parks, walkable neighborhoods, and a championship golf course, the project responds to a broader vision centered on sustainability, quality of life, and integrated living.

The villa is conceived as an extension of its terrain, emerging from the ground as a continuation of the site’s natural layers rather than an imposed object. The design establishes a strong connection with the landscape, both visually and environmentally, aligning with the “green” principles embedded within the wider community.

Architecturally, the project is articulated as a cut into the stratum of the ground, where horizontal elements—slabs, planted terraces, and shading devices—are organized along a defined vertical grid while maintaining a sense of controlled irregularity. This interplay creates a façade that is both disciplined and expressive, balancing structure with a subtle sense of movement. Vegetation is allowed to grow vertically within this framework, contributing to passive climate regulation and reinforcing the building’s relationship with nature. The use of travertine cladding on vertical elements enhances the tactile quality of the architecture, emphasizing material authenticity and grounding the villa within its context.
