Island E represents the financial and commercial core of Belema Atlantic Islands, conceived as the primary engine of activity and economic exchange within the wider smart city. As the central hub, it anchors the development, structuring movement, density, and urban intensity while projecting energy across the entire island ecosystem.
The masterplan is defined by a strong spatial and security framework, organized around a continuous looped spine that connects five strategic perimeter points. These nodes, reinforced by landmark watchtowers, establish a clear and controlled edge condition, while two key connections extend the island to the mainland through underwater links, ensuring accessibility without compromising security.
Internally, a network of water canals branches from the main loop, structuring the island into six distinct and self-sufficient zones. These waterways introduce both environmental value and spatial hierarchy, while enabling landscaped promenades that enhance walkability and public realm quality. The green corridors act as transitional buffers—balancing openness with privacy, and allowing each zone to operate with controlled access while remaining fully integrated within the larger urban system.
