CHALLENGE /
The main challenge with this project was to remodel a previously designed beach residence by others. The fact that the concrete structure was already built and completed put major limitations on the alteration of the massing of the building. The client requested we adopt a contemporary Greek-style typology.

CONCEPT /
Three main elements are introduced to finish the villa: stone, white masonry coating and wood that is painted blue and treated. A stone-finished external gallery is introduced from the ground floor at street level all the way down to the basement floor that opens up at the beach level. In addition to giving a clear direction to the path from level to the other, the gallery also breaks the monotony of the three-volume high facade of the villa and frames the cantilevered curved volumes that were protruding with a lack of sense in the previous design by oth
