VILLA ATTAR
AMPHITHEATER HOUSE

CHALLENGE /
The design is influenced by the land’s steep topography: the landscaping follows an amphitheater-like stepped approach that maximizes both physical and visual interaction between the external area and its users, and produces different settings within the garden - a barbecue and dining area near the kitchen, a swimming pool and jacuzzi space, as well as different sitting and play areas that are spread homogeneously along the landscape.
CONCEPT /
The concept of the amphitheater is further experimented with and pushed to the inside of the villa resulting in a ground floor plan with diverse levels that spatially delimit areas for different functions. Furthermore, the villa is composed of three pitched-roofed blocks that are stone and wood cladded to conform to the area’s building regulations. The in-between spaces are treated lightly, fully glazed, and incorporate the stepped walkways that connect the different spaces altogether, from the entrance, to the dining room and reception areas, opening up to the gardens.
