CHALLENGE /

"I want to live outside, yet I need my living space to be enclosed and sheltering." We draw upon this dichotomy to produce a 70 m² contemporary house which gives the user the ability to control the degrees of how much he would like to 'live in the wild'. 

 

CONCEPT /

The project is a prototype for a contemporary resort house. The small yet efficient and smart house comprises a living room with an open kitchen and dining bar area as well as a private master bedroom suite and bathroom. The house's longitudinal sides have double-skin treatment, structural glass acting as the external skin while the internal one varies in relation to spaces' privacy. Wooden louvers and curtains are used for the living spaces and wood cladded walls engulf the master bedroom suite. The living spaces' front façade is made of curtain glass and opens up fully while the bedroom's back elevation consists of a wooden staircase that links the garden with a terrace on top.
